WorkSafe is investigating a work-related fatality at the BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd trading as BGC Cement worksite in Naval Base near Rockingham this afternoon.
A 44-year-old man was believed to have died as a result of a fall. This is the second death at the Beard Street site within 11 months.
Inspectors travelled to the site and are investigating the circumstances. No further details are available at this stage.
WorkSafe thoroughly investigates serious work-related injuries and deaths in WA with a view to preventing future incidents of a similar nature.
WorkSafe WA Commissioner Lex McCulloch said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed his sincere condolences to the family.
