Auditing - USSA Global

Auditing

Continuous improvement in HSE performance relies on an organisation’s ability to maintain and improve the way they manage risks by learning from experience; this can be achieved through an effective audit and inspection program.

Auditing can be defined as:

The structured process of collecting independent information on the efficiency, effectiveness and reliability of the total HSE management system and drawing up plans for corrective action.

Auditing is an essential element of any management system, and constitutes the ‘feedback loop’; this provides a check on the adequacy and effectiveness of the current arrangements in place to manage risks and enables an organisation to reinforce, maintain and develop its ability to reduce risks to the fullest extent and to ensure the continued effectiveness of its HSE management system.

Our qualified (RABQSA) and experienced Lead Auditors will assess your current Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems to evaluate the systems effectiveness and reliability.

Our Lead Auditors can offer you a variety of Auditing services, including:

Standards Audit

In preparation for certification, USSA Global can conduct a specific Standards Audit, examining your existing HSE management system, to determine whether adequate procedures and controls have been developed and implemented as required. This gap analysis helps identify areas that need more work before your organisation applies for certification, saving you time and money. The Audit will assess your internal systems against criteria defined within any of the following Management Systems Standards:

  • AS/NZS 4801 (OHS Management)
  • OHSAS 18001 (OHS Management)
  • ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
  • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management); and

Following the audit, a detailed Action Plan would be produced which would identify gaps and indicate any remedial actions required, in order to close gaps and ensure your company can demonstrate compliance against requirements set out in the Standard.

Integrated Management System Audit

USSA Global have recently developed an integrated Audit tool, which covers ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 requirements, it also includes the criteria of the AUS/NZ 4801 standard and AUS/NZ 31000 Risk Management standards.  This tool clearly identifies any gaps in your current Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Management System and can be tailored so to include only the Standards you wish to be audited against. Following the audit, a detailed Action Plan is produced which identifies gaps and indicates any remedial actions required, in order to close gaps and ensure your company can demonstrate compliance against the required standards.

Legal Compliance Audit

AuditingThis Audit tool can be used to ensure your business is meeting minimum legal HSE requirements as applicable to your specific business and industry. The Audit will also assess your systems against your own internal policies and procedures to determine compliance, functionality and comprehensiveness. The USSA Global team focus on recognising opportunities for improvement; as part of a Legal Compliance Audit, you will be provided with a comprehensive Performance Action Plan to highlight areas of non-compliance and identify additional measures which will assist in meeting the required standards.
