New Safety Systems for AU Vehicles - USSA Global

New Safety Systems for AU Vehicles

October 25, 2013 All light commercial vehicles sold in Australia will soon have to include new safety features.

From November 2015, the federal government will make electronic stability control (ESC) and a brake assist system (BAS) compulsory on all light commercial vehicles.

The new safety systems have already been made compulsory on passenger cars and passenger vans.

ESC is an advanced stability system that automatically applies the brakes to individual wheels in an emergency, helping the driver to steer safely.

A BAS detects when a driver is attempting to brake hard and helps stop the vehicle as quickly as possible.
