10th October 2013. The WA Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) have issued a press release stating that the importance of safety in the mining industry will be at the forefront of the up and coming Mines Inspectors Forum.
The two-day event, hosted by the DMP, gives Western Australia’s Mines Inspectors the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the State, discuss their concerns and challenges and listen to experts in their fields talk about latest developments.
The event will kick off with a presentation by the DMP Resources Safety Executive Director Simon Ridge looking at the future of the Reform and Development at Resources Safety (RADARS), which has seen the State’s safety inspector workforce increase by 30 per cent.
Other presentations at the forum will include the lessons learnt from recent prosecutions, what is happening in Western Australia’s regional areas, an industry perspective on the state’s safety culture and the latest on the diesel exhaust emissions project in the Goldfields.
The Mines Inspectors Forum will be held at Burswood on Swan on 29-30 October 2013.
